This week we decided to take our Spring Break so even Daddy took a week off from work. Our plan was to make 3 Square Foot Gardens. While Daddy started the building of them, Papa and I planned to sod some of the backyard and rake leaves. And the boys were to paint the rain barrels with me.
Phase 1: cutting the wood pieces to make the base. Papa hard at work with me.
Thanks to Papa, we were able to get two rain barrels for free to use to water our new garden.
Co-op class this week: Big Bro using a Japanese painting technique of using real fish to make prints. They used them to decorate shirts. The class is called Renita’s Recipes and each week they are doing some kind of new mixture, concoction—anything that is from a recipe.
We found some little silkworms hanging from the trees at co-op, too. Daddy working.
They are taking shape now! Here’s all the bags of vermiculite, peat moss and compost.
As a reward for a week of hard work, we took everyone to the Renaissance Festival Education Day. My favorite day to go! This is what the boys like to do…star and knife throwing.
